Hi, I’m Clare.

I look forward to the honor of building a therapeutic relationship with you—one with trust, connection, vulnerability, openness, hope, and commitment to hard work.

We will work together collaboratively to guide you toward a life with more meaning, stronger relationships, and a more expansive and clarified sense of self and the world.

My Approach

I believe that the relationships we form and nurture, both in and outside the therapy room, are essential to our growth and healing.

But most of us who seek human connection find that these relationships are anything but simple.

We can find ourselves overwhelmed or frustrated by patterns and cycles that seem unhealthy, unproductive, or far too reminiscent of a complex past. I support the process of identifying and exploring these dynamics with you so that you can find more freedom in how you respond to both your internal experience and the experience of those you love.

In my therapeutic style, I tend to integrate the following therapeutic lenses: trauma-informed, person-centered, attachment theories, multicultural and liberation psychology, psychodynamics and object relations, and self-compassion and acceptance. To allow for highly individualized care, I prioritize various aspects of these styles differently across unique individuals, relationships, presenting concerns, and goals.

Additionally, I aim for us to investigate the systemic-level dynamics at play within the individual, the couple, the relationship, the family, the community, and the broader society at-large.

I have my master’s degree (M.S.) in clinical psychology, and I am on track to obtain my doctorate of psychology (Psy.D.), both degrees from Loyola University Maryland.

I’m a great fit for…

folks who are eager and curious to know more about themselves. My clients are willing to explore their attachments, intra- and interpersonal dynamics and patterns, and the various functions of their thoughts, feelings, and actions. I am passionate about helping clients process their multifaceted identities as they intersect with self, others, and the world.

something you’ll notice about me…

is that I will attune to you with a warm and authentic presence, consistently bring our attention to what’s coming up in the here-and-now, and simultaneously invite all parts of yourself––including your younger selves––into the room.

I’ve been continuing to learn through…

extensive training experiences such as classroom education, individual and group supervision, clinical and community work, professional consultation, continuing education opportunities, organizational membership and leadership, and conference attendance.

when I’m not in the office, you can find me…

sharing meals and games with friends, engaging in the arts (of all kinds!), going for walks in nature, cuddling with my cat, or enjoying delicious foods from local eateries.

i try to live by the words…

“It is possible for us to live every moment of our daily life in such a way that every moment becomes a moment of healing.” (Thich Nhat Hanh)
